Originally from Germany, Elke found herself drawn to the West Coast of Scotland, a famous Scottish region, renowned for its beautiful landscape, and has lived there since 2007. The area combines Scotland’s impressive Bens and Munros with the wild and unpredictable Atlantic. If you ask her, how on earth she got to this remote and natural place, she will bluntly reply “By plane!” Until now however, she has managed to brave the challenging weather and taken the opportunity to enhance her already extensive knowledge of Single Malt Whiskies on a professional basis in one of Diageo’s most renowned and popular remote distilleries.

In 2017 she expanded her technical knowledge by obtaining her GCD (General Certificate in Distilling). This qualification gives an in-depth insight into the alchemy that creates the world's most iconic spirit and the diversity of flavours therein.

Elke still lives in Oban, but has, in the meantime, decided to share her passion for Single Malt Whiskies on a private and exclusive basis with like-minded whisky lovers and those who aspire to become one.

Today, she is organising bespoke trips to hand selected Single Malt Distilleries, where her clients will be able to either gain or augment their knowledge during exclusive and professional conversations, distillery tours and tastings in a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. The opportunity to sample some of the most exquisite and distinguished Premium Single Malt Whiskies on a non-commercial, managerial basis with whisky experts, away from mass tourism. The option of a private purchase will conclude the experience.

Elke picks up her clients from their accommodation and accompanies them in an exclusive but understated vehicle to selected distilleries, whereby the client will be able to choose from Elke’s suggestions or to set up their own distillery wish list.

On the journey, there will be plenty of opportunity for professional whisky 'blether' and Elke is more than happy to share her wide knowledge of the 'water of life' with her clients and thus prepare them adequately with insider knowledge for their visit to the distilleries.
